For sale near Boise, ID a 1944 John Deere A Pulling Tractor in very good condition. The Serial Number is # 540443. This strong machine has won several 1st place trophies pulling all around the state of Idaho.
The owner has pulled in the 4,000 lb., 4,500 lb. and 5,000 lb. classes with this tractor. Without weights (As it’s shown now) it would make the 4,000 lb. class. It currently has the weight brackets on front and back however there are no weights included with it.
This Tractor has been pulling as it is set-up now for about 6 to7 years. It has a 9-inch stroke with 5 ¾ inch bore. The carburetor is a Re-jetted carb. from Robert’s Carb shop. The Reground camshaft came from Barry’s Cam service. It has a Heisler's head and a Roller rocker arm and the owner thinks it’s a 1:4 offset ratio which opens the valves about 3 times more than stock.
The rear tires are 16.9 x 38 cut tires, and the front tires are 400 x 15’s. It is set-up with an electric start.
The owner usually runs this tractor with high Octane Gasoline. Using regular gas causes it to ping a little. Therefore, he would recommend using a fuel additive if you are planning on using regular gas, which he has done and says it worked well for him.
